Jesus The Theory of Everything - Predictions

An Indestructible Life

Gods Enduring Resolve

Jesus Christ has an enduring resolve to bring about Gods purpose in the earth. He is bringing about this resolve by the power of his indestructible life.

Men and movements come and go. This has been true within so called Christianity and without. Even a casual observer of history can see that most of what is popular today will be seen as ridiculous tomorrow.

Through it all Jesus is at work to bring about his purpose. He endures and he works to this on the basis of the power of an indestructible life. Imagine if you lived forever watching the generations come and go. Then imagine you could be an invisible spirit that could come inside of people or a physical being in one place and at one time.

Jesus Christ is alive forever and he is now a life-giving spirit. He is not interacting with earth through a physical body anymore he is a spirit.

We can connect with him live and in person by the spirit and cooperate with him while we are alive physically. During our few years we have in the flesh on this planet. We can become a building stone for his houses going up all over the planet. Or we can do our own thing and pretend to.

Jesus Christ has an enduring resolve. Worded even better… Jesus Christ is the embodiment of Gods enduring resolve.

Our Purpose Hardwired Within

I sometimes hear people ask, various people from my 6 year old child to a 70 year old friend.  “What is the meaning of all this?”, “why are we here?”,  “why did God make us?”, “What is the purpose of all this?”  The answer to these questions is found woven within scripture, the bible retells the story over and again. Jesus said more than once that the scriptures are about him (all of them).

But I think the same answer can be found or alluded to within us our makeup. Woven by the creator who created us for that purpose in the first place. It can be found in our DNA, in the design of our bodies and in our very instincts.

Humanity is driven for a romance, driven to build a home and a growing family.

I was on a walk this evening and the sun was almost set, it was cold and windy and the snow was drifting. The trees were dormant yet still alive. I could see the first star and I thought to myself what does all this tell me about God? Then I prayed and asked God what should I learn from the massiveness of the earth and the universe about God himself?

We are hard wired by the creator who is currently building a place for himself to lay his head. Building a family to love, building a bride for his son, building a body to fill the universe with his own image. We like him do the same instinctually all over the earth. We see a drive for a spouse, a family, a home, our bodies are built for this.

Our instincts are clues to God’s purpose and therefore our purpose.

God is extremely resolved to see his purpose fulfilled, that purpose and that resolve is summarized in the person of Jesus Christ.

Gods Enduring Resolve

T. Austin Sparks and Frank Viola have called it Gods Eternal Purpose, Davern Fromke called it Gods Ultimate Intention. Others have called it other wonderful things.

I feel like the Lord is leading me to begin writing and thinking about what I call Gods Enduring Resolve. Enduring because it is so long (to us) in development. God does not change, no matter how many centuries pass. Resolve because God seems absolutely fixated and resolved on seeing his purpose fulfilled.

Family of Eight

The Routine of Family Time

My wife and I have six children aged 14 and under. Our house can be super chaotic sometimes. Like way beyond what I ever thought I could handle. Having many children affects many things in life. Just having peace and quiet and order seems impossible most of the time.

The most stressful thing for me has been financial. The number of children you have not only affects your weekly budget but it also affects the size of home and vehicle that we need.

That being what it is there are also some good things from having many children that I never expected.

Among those the best being what I call family time. We always have dinner together but we also have a nightly family time right before bed. During family time we do all or some of the following:

  • Read a book to the younger ones.
  • Sing several songs about Jesus.
  • Dad teaches a quick 5 min lesson about something God is showing him.
  • Around the room where everyone or anyone can say or share anything.
  • Around the room hot seat, where we all says something nice about the person on the hot seat.
  • Pray

Family time can last as long as an hour, typically 8-9pm. Preparing myself and the kids for this time has been one of the best parts of having a large family. It helps to get them in bed by giving us a routine. Family time seems to unite us in ways hard to explain and seal the day off in the minds of everyone. The kids are also learning to speak up in groups and not to just sit and listen all the time. This is important to dad.

I would suggest family time for every family no matter the size. Everyone’s family time will of course look different, ours is loud, chaotic and often full of laughs and sometimes even squabbles.
