The Real Foundation

Happy New Year 2020!!, I plan to post weekly going forward, likely on Wednesdays.

Now back to the more important things.

If Jesus Christ is not the real foundation under our lives, we are headed for real trouble. The sort of trouble that may not come to us until the end of life, or it may come next week, but it IS coming either way.

If money or a nice home, or a nice set of kids, or a nice neighborhood, a set of easy life circumstances is the foundation of our lives. Then there is coming a bad time for us. It will be very unsettling and upsetting. It will feel like our lives are being turned upside down, in a confusing way, against our will.

But if we can get Jesus Christ under our lives, in a real way, not a fake or sentimental, pretending-for-church way. If we can do that then he will turn our lives upside down in a way that we can understand and accept and perhaps even enjoy. Better this happen sooner than later. Get him alone under you, with intensity, while you’re young, and repeat every day if necessary. Let him shape your life-circumstances according to what he wants, not necessarily according to what you want, or what is easy for you.

Either way, for the Christian, our lives are not our own to control and optimize for ease and comfort. If we are a Christian we WILL lay our lives down for new ones, sooner or later, lives founded solely on him.

The Only Foundation (Jesus Christ) – part II

Jesus Worldview

The gospel of the kingdom of Jesus Christ is rarely heard today. We hear portions of hit broken up and fractured in a variety of churches. Some churches you hear none of it. The gospel of the kingdom of Jesus Christ is what turned the world on its head in the first century. It infuriates many to the point of causing them to commit murder. It revolutionizes many more. This gospel is being restored in the earth today.

Five Common Gospels Of Today: (see part I)

  • Christian Gospel of libertinism
  • The Christian Gospel of legalism
  • Christian Gospel of Catholicism
  • Gospel of progressivism and enlightenment
  • Gospel of Islam

There are many others and strange partials as people try to explain God…..But with this post I hope to compare and contrast these with the gospel of the kingdom we find in scripture.

The Gospel of The Kingdom of Jesus Christ

John the Baptist preached it, Jesus preached it, the disciples preached it and the apostle Paul preached it to the gentiles.

The message of the gospel (good news) of the kingdom was that your world is entirely controlled by Satan. All of its systems enslaved to the demonic powers in control. Governmental, economic, religious (including much of Christianity), entertainment…all systems of Satan, controlled by wicked powers in high places.

You are loyal to this system and therefore are its slave.

God is uprooting and displacing this system with the currently present and increasing kingdom of his son, Jesus Christ.

Turn from your loyalty to the world system, repent of your sins and join God in his son Jesus Christ. Believe in him and completely surrender your life to him and follow him. Let him have his way in your life daily.

Baptism in water was an outward display of this turning and dying to Satan’s world and your loyalty to him.

The gospel of kingdom of Jesus Christ is about a new creation displacing the old. It’s about our death and his new life. This gospel is rarely preached today. We have shrunk it down to a miniscule version of its formal self.

The gospel of the kingdom of Jesus Christ is like an insurgency within Satan’s domain.

God’s Restorative Work

The Lord himself is restoring this gospel of the kingdom message.

In these last days Jesus Christ is Gods communication with man (Hebrews1). Jesus Christ himself embodies the union between God and man. God speaks to man through his son Jesus Christ alone, God speaks to us in the language of Jesus Christ alone.

If our foundation is not on the gospel of the kingdom of Jesus Christ we will struggle with confusion about God. Our worldview will be inaccurate and not match well with reality.

Much more to come on this.

The Only Foundation of Jesus Christ – part I

Jesus Worldview

For a Christian the gospel that we believe is like our life’s foundation or our world view. We can track almost all of our behavior back to our gospel. Jesus Christ himself is the only foundation that will move into the future.

1 Corinthians 3:10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each man must be careful how he builds on it. 11 For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

We should constantly reconsider and evaluate our own foundation, what we believe and why. We can also watch other people and find out what they believe about Jesus and their relation to him.

  • Is your worldview of God like a Santa’s nice list for blessings. God’s world revolves around your comfort and success? Your life is its foundation.
  • Is your gospel an after life business, an evangelism program that you are called to work hard for to please God? Foundation is self.
  • Is your worldview of God and church a social club for those going to heaven, “lets just all hang out and be friendly?”

Our gospel shows in our behavior, desire that it’s the same one Paul and John the Baptist and Jesus himself preached. That gospels is Jesus himself who is the only foundation, the chief cornerstone himself. Constantly be willing to have your foundation examined and perfected.

There are many gospels out there. More than ever, many involve parts of Jesus’, most steal ideas from him then exclude him.

Five Common Gospels Of Today:

Christian Gospel of libertinism, this gospel is primarily an afterlife program which teaches how you live doesn’t matter, it over emphasizes grace so that people can live and do whatever they want. Because their after life is set. Its true but its twisted and incomplete.

Christian Gospel of legalism, this gospel is about pleasing God with a list of things to try hard and accomplish. It over emphasizes the human role in service and it become extremely divisive because every legalist has a different list.

Christian Gospel of Catholicism, this gospel is about the catholic church centered in Rome, it seeks to sign people up under the Vatican’s hierarchy. It’s current version over emphasizes itself, the saints and Mary’s role in interacting with God. It has components of both libertinism and legalism.

Gospel of progressivism and enlightenment. Very common today, this gospel has as its foundation evolutionary theory, it believes humanity came up from the earth is evolving into something better and better. It emphasizes education and knowledge itself as the mechanism of human progress. This gospel enjoys the support of many governments in the world today as its official message and is taught to children at a very young age. It sees itself as superior to all religions. Enlightenment thinking typically pushes Jesus down as some religious figure while it plagiarises many of his teachings.

Gospel of Islam, This gospel is a message that rejects Jesus as God and exalts Allah as the single and one and only true God. There are many versions of it, some accept the old testament prophets view Jesus as one of them. Its central message is believe that Allah is one and only true God

There are many others….
