They Ate and Were Satisfied

The disciples worried, “how we can satisfy all these (~5000) people?” Then Jesus had them sit down then he turned five loaves and two fish into more that enough for thousands of people.

He miraculously multiplied the food they had.

“And they ate and were satisfied; and they picked up seven large baskets full of what was left over of the broken pieces.” – Mark‬ ‭8:7-8‬

“And they are and were satisfied.”

Jesus Christ satisfies humanity physically, emotionally, and spiritually. He is capable of bringing purpose, excitement, provision, direction and friendship to our lives among many other things.

If we have him yet we still feel dissatisfied in many ways, then we don’t know him like we could (just like the disciples in this story).

If we still feel dissatisfied with life then perhaps we only have a small glimpse of all that he is and we needlessly look elsewhere to find our satisfaction.

Is Jesus enough to satisfy you? Can he alone provide for you and undo your impossible problems and situations?

Why Obsessing over Politics is So Destructive for Christians

For years I heard Christians bash other Christians for being liberal and for voting democrat for a variety of reasons. Lately I hear liberal Christians bashing conservative Christians for voting republican for other reasons.

Fixating our attention and focus on this silly federal government with its almost-irrelevant policies is learned and I believe we learn this at church.

“Whatever it is you call God.”

Carl Jung once said “In addition to our immediate consciousness which is of a thoroughly personal nature there exists a second psychic system of a collective, universal, and impersonal nature which is identical in all individuals.”

Recently a friend said to me in a meeting at work about a problem he had “I’m sending prayers up to the universe”, I said “why not pray to God?” He said in agreement “yes well whatever it is you call God.”
We can hear people pray to the universe today, because they sense something or someone is there but they don’t understand him and have entirely overlooked the massiveness and ever-present spirit of Jesus Christ. The Bible says Jesus “became a life-giving spirit.”
Jung’s “system” is a person, it is not a force, it is not a mystical universe.

Also the “system” is not a mystery anymore, it is entirely much more than a system, it is entirely much more than a force, it is entirely much more than a universe.
The truth is that the spirit of Jesus Christ is Jungs “second psychic system of a collective universal and impersonal nature…”!

“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities-all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”

‭‭- Paul in Colossians‬ ‭1:15-17‬ ‭NASB‬
