He Gets My Time

The older I get the more I align myself around Jesus Christ getting all my time. Similarly brothers and sisters in Christ who want to fellowship around him, get my time. I’d greatly rearrange my life for either.

One of the most frustrating things is when I let people take (or waste) my time. I don’t care who you are, the president himself. You steal my time and we are having problems. I’ll avoid you like the plague next time.

But whoever wants to fellowship around him or be introduced to him, I’d skip anything for you.

Not For Evangelism

I realize no one who needs to hear this cares about what I have to say about this. After all I’m not a professional. …But nevertheless I’ll write it again, with hopes some day the right eyes will see.

Church meetings are not necessarily for evangelism. 🤔

Not necessarily for teachers to teach. 😳

Not necessarily for fervent preaching😡.

Not necessarily for the singing of songs.🤯

I love all of these things, but there is something even greater than all of that. Something greater, which our Lord Jesus Christ has for us when we gather. He absorbs and encompasses all the evangelism the preaching and teaching and singing into a masterpiece that is better. Meetings may include some of those things but we should never major on one of those and insist each meeting “this is what we do”, “things are like that here, so take it or leave it”, like a cookie-cutter predictable event.

If we feel free to or encouraged to control things like that, or demand that some great person with abilities, control things like that for us. Then we are deeply misunderstanding the Lord Jesus himself and his gatherings which he has foreordained for us. We must let go of attempting to control the things of the Lord.

Called To Be Hated

Some servants of God during their life absolutely no one listened to, for some, no one even liked them…and….then they were murdered.

Those circumstances were because of the state of Gods people at the time and place they lived. There was a lot of religion going on then but not a lot of connection to God.

The only thing that remains of some of them was their writings, which vindicates them many years later. But how many of them never even wrote? Preachers who were ignored, hated, murdered, then forgotten. Did they miss God or miss their calling?

NO, because Jesus saw them, Jesus remembers them, and Jesus will vindicate them.

That might be the calling for many people in the church. Many disciples of Christ might be called upon to suffer like that.

What about you? How about that for a calling?, how about that for “making the world a better place”, or our “best life now .”

Do you think the Lord still asks that of his followers ?
