“The young man *said to Him, “All these things I have kept; what am I still lacking?” Jesus said to him, “If you wish to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.””

Matthew 19:20-21 NASB

What if this young man said “no I won’t sell then come follow you, but I’ll use my big money to build a platform to preach about you” ? What would you think of him? Would you pay him a salary?

This is the ministry philosophy of most evangelicals today. Bring your skills (especially if they look good on stage) say nice things about Jesus,…collect money….repeat weekly…not knowing how to follow him.
