What Does it Mean to Be In Christ?

In Christ Jesus

Here is an analogy to explain what it means to be In Christ Jesus:

Let there be a bubble formed around our lives, the bubble itself is Jesus Christ. The bubble forms by prayer to, and by faith in Jesus Christ. Its formation is outside of our control and our responsibiltiy to form (but it absolutely does form). It forms and it is like an immune system to spiriutal death, and to Satanic enslavement (which is the world system we are born into).

From now on we have no serious access to others except who make it through that bubble. Access to others thru Him and by His initiation and His sanction. By his doing, our bubbles expand and merge with other’s.

Those who exit the bubble (Jesus Christ), no matter how close they have been in the past. Are also exiting our lives to a large degree. This bubble is now the most serious and weighty thing in our lives. More serious than our immediate family, more serious than our spouses. It is more seruous than our money, and more serious than even the hopes we have for our future.

Stay In The Bubble No Matter What

We cannot and should never exit the bubble. Inside is love, is safety, is real spiritual family, there is THE future, and there is daily provision. Whoever comes in and whatsoever happens inside the bubble is by permission of him. Be it good, great, pleasant, difficult or even terrible. So we dont have to worry or have anxiety inside this bubble. Even the terrible, if its by his permission brings with it great consolation. It brings a special and unique return to us in time.

Jesus himself lived like I describe when on earth, he lived within a father-bubble and did and said nothing outside of it. “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise” – Jesus Christ. Jesus lived and died in this “bubble”, he experienced much good, great, and terrible things within it. He surrenered all within his Father-bubble.

Outside the bubble; we probably have much to fret, worry, and be anxious about (no matter how rich we manage to store up for ourselves) because there is no future. There is in fact, grave spiritual danger, it is just a matter of time, get inside Jesus Christ with extreme urgency. Then learn to stay in that bubble with peace and joy and the gladness of Christ.

Eventually the Jesus-bubbles, (can also be called the kingdom of heaven) around his people will expand and will merge, displace and destroy everything outside. And His reality will be the only reality. And God will have his purpose from eternity. That which he has always been after.

Hang with the Lowly

“Nothing can be more cruel than tenderness that consigns a brother to his sin. Nothing can be more compassionate than the severe rebuke that calls a brother from the path of sin.” Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Low expectations are also cruel. Things like assuming and expecting a person to remain forever immature, because of their gender or their history of selfishness, is wrong.

Excusing away and celebrating certain sins because we don’t want to be accused of something?

Discarding people because we want to only surround ourselves with good people. With people who think like us because a self help guru said so …is cruel, godless, and snobbery,, reject it. It is hostile to Jesus Christ.

Dear Christian, you must not be controlled by fear of accusation. Remember that Satan is the accuser, it is normal to get accused. Get used to it if you are going to follow Christ.

“Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:16‬ ‭

The NASB and ESV translate this is to hang with or associate with the lowly.

The Fruit of Your Gospel

Teachings and sermons about producing Christian fruit have been overdone and even used for abuse. As I here write about fruit I’m not describing any particular group or behavior.

This post is about the preaching of different gospels. Gospels produce converts and ultimately churches. I’ve observed different gospels producing different types of converts and churches and ministries. The gospel of the kingdom of Jesus Christ also produces a fruit that God describes as good and which Jesus gave us a standard to measure against.

The gospel of the kingdom does not produce churches where evangelistic sermons by one or two are the only and supreme focus for every meeting. And where everyone else are expected to sit and observe for a lifetime.

Where meetings are filled with believers who barely know one another… if at all, and stare at the back of one another’s head.

It does not see lifetime friends disappear, cut off fellowship, for petty reasons, without so much as a goodbye. Like church is some sort of impersonal business relationship

It does not produce sermon series…. endless ….sermon…. series.

It produces family, it produces face to face sharing of Jesus Christ back and forth shared life in even the shyest and poorest of people. People without skill and without ambition for other things.

It produces a people completely outside a satan controlled world. Who challenge the world together and with effective force, who together get into trouble with that world. It does not produce a people who fit right into it and who ignore reality.

It produces a people united by only the person of Jesus himself and that is all they need, not money. They do not have a common adoration for a certain pastor or priest or line of theology

The gospel of the kingdom, after a time of discipleship, produces bodies of believers obsessed with Jesus Christ who understand their together-calling. Who all speak and share equally, extrovert and introvert, who share their material wealth one with another. It produces love, deep genuine Jesus love,

It grows organically without strategy and without marketing, people just are drawn, sometimes a few people other times MANY people, it’s money flows to one another to produce equality with all, it’s members are led by the spirit and are not ashamed to speak and so sermons often are not necessary at all. It is not controllable or visible to human governments. It actually gets attacked by governments.

The fruit of the gospel of the kingdom looks like a gorgeous counterpart to Jesus Christ in the earth.
