Too Much Negativity, Too Much Positivity

Some negativity is evil, unnecessary and emotionally exhausting. But other negativity is godly and flows directly from mouth of God.

Similarly some positivity is evil, deceptive, and should be completely ignored. While other positivity is from the Spirit of Christ. How can we know the difference?

“Faithful are the wounds of a friend; profuse are the kisses of an enemy.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭27:6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Sometimes a godly loving friend will wound us. Sometimes an evil motivated and confused person will flatter and “kiss” us. It takes spiritual insight and wisdom to know the difference.

Consider the source, consider the maturity of the person warning or flattering, is there balance? Are they always negative or always positive? Have they demonstrated the ability to be led of the Spirit of Christ? Do they have demonstrated ulterior motives in constant negativity or in constant positivity?

Do they acknowledge and have a biblical foundation to both negative and positive feedback for other Christians?

When there is a lot of criticism and negativity in a culture. Then weak people often stop regarding all warnings about the bad paths we sometimes find ourselves on, or the paths we are leading others down.

We sometimes get disoriented and disregard all criticism as empty negativity to ignore.

But that doesn’t mean at all that all criticism is in fact just empty negativity!

Sometimes it is the spirit of Christ trying to correct and bring sanity specifically to us. Jesus did and still does this today.

Just because we are tired and don’t want to listen, that says nothing about the value of listening to the mature people that are in our lives. Just because the person warning seems old or uncool or negative doesn’t mean we should ignore.

The warnings from the Christians that God places in our lives, especially warnings that are well thought through, articulate, and from trusted people …should be given special consideration. They still can be wrong but listen and consider carefully and repeatedly, with Bible in hand.

Christians today are often gaslighted against wisdom and sanity and by worldly, spiritually empty, professional voices …who just happen to routinely have a mic in hand, (eye-roll).

Hatred For Self

I CANT HELP. BUT NOTICE THAT SO MANY PEOPLE DISLIKE THEMSELVES RIGHT NOW AND MANY BLAME THAT INTERNAL DISLIKE FALSELY ON OUTWARD DISTINCTIONS LIKE THEIR RACE OR GENDER OR SIN OR A PAINFUL SITUATION.

THEN UNABLE TO PROCESS IT IN A HEALTHY WAY THEY BECONE EMBITTERED AND BEGIN TO BLAME AND ACCUSE OTHERS FOR WHAT’S IS ACTUALLY GOING ON WITH THEMSELVES INTERNALLY.

But…if you can have ears to hear about the kingdom of God in Christ which is here on earth in part.

Then we can accept that Jesus Christ has the absolute cure for this common human predicament. Our sinful ways which lead to so much resentment and hurt and self loathing can be washed away as we follow him.

In Jesus Christ all distinctions are obliterated. There are no races, only the new Adam, the third race. In Jesus Christ there is no male nor female. We are all one in him.

In Jesus Christ we are able to forgive and move on and not base a good deal of life on our offenses or taking up of others offenses. We dont any longer need the false crutch of accusing others stronger than ourselves, or the feeling of power we derive from remaining forever bitter.

In Jesus Christ all things are new and we are able to move on. we are able to overcome what controls us. Be it other people or our own self hatred.

As we depart from and avoid Jesus Christ all sorts of bitterness wrath, accusation, insecurity, and hatred for others fills our minds.

In Jesus Christ we are Holy, we are pure, we are good, we are able and willing to forgive our enemies. We can allow our enemies to become friends, and we become worthy of love and peace again.

The Glorious Distraction of Seeking Jesus Christ

“For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:32-33‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1:13-14‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Sin occurs when we are drawn away by our lust or desires which then give rise to sin. God doesn’t tempt us but our own being drawn away tempts us. We freely walk into sin.

Jesus dealt with temptation to sin by fervent and intense seeking of His Heavenly Father.

He did not use extreme and superior will power!

Seeking Jesus Christ is the best distraction from our lusts and desires which so easily drag us into sin.

Seeking is something that occupies us in times where we’d otherwise be tempted. Fill our idle time with seeking and pursuing rather than watching things that are themselves tempting. On phones or TV or internet browsing.

Getting a real glimpse of Jesus Christ and Living for the glory of the father. Seeking righteousness moment by moment.

Which is the beginning motivation for pursuing him. I am convinced it is the only thing in life strong enough to overcome our tendency to walk right into temptation and then sin.

Seeking Jesus Christ is a preoccupation in place of Satan’s world system. His system which can addict us and entangle us with all sorts of fruitless deeds of darkness.
