Ok With Conflict

When someone says or posts something you disagree with:

Do not:

  • Scoff in silence at them!
  • Gossip about their “bad” attitude!
  • Ignore them!
  • Insult them !
    Make assumptions about their motives!
  • Argue with them behind their back!
  • Make a straw man to misrepresent what they are saying. (This is lying)
  • Have the attitude of someone who just wants to crush their opponents.

Do:

  • Talk to them to understand their motive!
  • Challenge them!
  • Disagree with them confidently and with kindness.
  • Have the attitude that conflict is simply the pursuit of truth.

That’s love!

That’s just how things are …in the kingdom of heaven!

If we really love God and people, (and are not just religious drones), we will be willing to do conflict and confrontation.

Not constantly and with aggression, but whenever it’s needed, with love.

Jesus brings great conflict to humanity, right where it is needed and when it is needed, just role with it.

Avoiding conflict is sometimes avoiding Jesus Christ.

Where His Glory Dwells

“The place his glory dwells!”

Glory means greatness and pleasure.

I do not love a place where the glory of a great man dwells. Or where his marvelous family dwells.

Ministry that gets its source from God leaves us saying and thinking “wow what an amazing Lord Jesus we have.” Ministry that is religious logic or eloquent sounding tradition leaves us thinking “wow what a good sermon” or “man my pastor is great” or very often “man I wish I was like him/her”

But wherever the glory of God dwells is wherever Jesus is made supreme. His greatness and pleasure is evident by and within every one present.

if you want to make the world a better place

Sermons & Speech Making

I predict that sermons will all but destroy the institution of speech making.

In a hundred years no one will want to hear brilliant oration.

What happens in the church (good or bad) leads the world. And if the church is preoccupied or distracted with nonsense, (the same Christian giving weekly religious talks to the same crowd of Christians that are ineffective, is nonsense).

Furthermore it is nonsense because it is unbiblical, it’s ineffective for real discipleship, and it requires Christians not do what the Lord is leading us to do. And that is to let our light shine toward one another during our gatherings.

Sermons being the misguided center will have ripple effects for generations.

Whenever this does happen widespread and I pray I’m around to experience it, the word of God will be shared person to person again. It will be amazing!
