The Coming Age – Another Perspective

(Written in 2021). As I read this post from 2014 and as we get ready to inaugurate Joe Biden. I can’t help but reflect on how quickly we forgot what the Obama-Biden administration did to the geo political world. If Biden really won, how quickly we forgot their constant blunders and scandals. There was a massive spike in terrorism and worldwide murder.

It was a time of disaster for freedom and for world peace.

(Written in 2014). As we see the happenings in the world, the rise of Islamic mass murder, the surge of ISIS and the political cooperation of the ruling class in the US, (by incompetence, by compliance or both). As we see the culture in the US and in Europe become more hostile and indifferent to Christ. As we see political correctness silencing right and ignoring wrong making things far more dangerous than they need to be. As we see the conspiring to kill and to undermine the US. It is tempting to fret, to fear, to despair and to want to climb into a hole and hide.

But, with this post I want to suggest another perspective.

Just before Jesus established his kingdom on earth through his Spirit dwelling within his body of believers he said “the gates of hell will not prevail against the church” (), he also said “all authority in heaven and earth has been given unto me“().  And we also know that “of the increase of his government there shall be no end.” ()

Maybe… just maybe the turmoil in the middle east, the horrific torturing and mass murder of the innocents, the refugee crises, the export of refugees (and terrorists) from Syria are responses to things that we can not see with our eyes and are never reported on.

Many of the children in the middle east are lied to daily about Jesus Christ. They are lied to and trained to lie about who he is and about what his people are like. From a very young age they are brain-washed to hate and some trained to murder.

Most of the countries in the middle east are ruled by corrupt politicians and/ or dictators, many installed or propped up by the US.

Maybe in response to these realities the Lord needed a weakened US to free the next generation of Syrians to hear of Jesus and to respond accordingly. Many wont respond but many others will.

Maybe Satan’s death-grip on the middle east and the Muslim world is beginning to break up.  Maybe the horrors we’ve seen will only further accelerate this in the hearts and minds of many in the middle east.  Maybe the Lord himself orchestrated all that we’ve seen in the past few years.  Maybe the Lord himself wants the Syrians and others in the middle east exposed to the gospel and spread around the world away from their enslavement to satans lies about Jesus Christ.

If we study history, ancient history (or not so ancient), we can clearly see the hand of God. What seems evil, unjust and terrible for the people going through it, results in gain for Jesus Christ and his purpose. Every time we see geo-political changes I believe it is a response to things happening in the unseen reality, in the spirit realm where evil spiritual authorities try to enslave and to destroy mankind.

Maybe Satan is panicking! because of all the people who are coming to the Lord in the middle east that we are not hearing about or seeing. Maybe Satan is panicking because some of those children are now hearing truth about Jesus Christ, maybe the only way to get many of them to hear is to relocate them away from the lying brainwashers?

What looks like loss to luke-warm Christianity, may be gain for Jesus Christ.

He is, after all the current Lord of all.

Alternative to the World System

Happy new year 2021! Thanks for reading, 2020 was the best year yet for this blog.

I listened to a prepper/ homesteader livestream the other day, a good man and a man I believe is in tune with the terrible situation of the world right now. But something occurred to me while listening that I wanted to share on here.

The alternative to the world system which is controlled and motivated and gets its life from Satan. With his principalities and powers in high places. Is not just to set out to be independent of that wicked system, it’s not to set up an alternative system because we hate it so with its conspiring against God and it’s wicked plans and motives.

The alternative system is already there. It’s already in place and good enough to strongly counter anything satan has devised. Jesus Christ himself.

On earth it is already set up, it is the ecclesia which already is the alternative to the world’s government system, and its food system, and its medical system, its entertainment system and its educational system.

Jesus Christ himself and those in whom he dwells are the only legitimate alternative. And it exists not in its own earthly homeland, it exists all over the earth. Right in the middle of Satan’s world system and on real estate Satan things he controls.

As disappointing and lacking as the ecclesia may seem to us sometimes. He and them (us) are the only alternative. Just like Jesus must have been such a disappointment to the Jewish disciples, who wanted a political messiah to rescue them.

When we set out to be independent, to avoid the world system and to set up alternative works systems, we are doing the same thing as the world has and is doing. Setting up a life systems independent of God. Even If we succeed and set up something good. Satan can easily hijack them in a few years if it’s not of and by and for Jesus Christ.

If it’s for us … it won’t be long before it’s …for Satan.

I’m also not saying that God doesn’t sometimes lead people to get off the grid and farm but that is not a blanket path for us all. For some people that is sinfully running and hiding when he wants us to stand and testify. Even to take ground at risk of personal harm.

For some people, setting out to create an alternative life-system is the equivalent of us running like Cain, running from the garden, setting up his own cities (Enoch) that provide, and protect, and entertain independently after we’ve run from Gods garden.

Can Women Join The Clergy?

Recently two different Christians that I know well have asked me what I thought about woman’s in ministry,

“Can a woman be a pastor?, Can a woman run a church?”

My answer to that is quite simple, no, but its not a no for the reason you might think.

The modern definition of pastor, the job title as the guy at the top of a hierarchy. The person who orchestrates church meetings. The person who is “in charge” of the church.

I recently watched a male pastor cry before his congregation about his insecurities and struggles in following God. After 30 minutes of this he said crying “well… and I am your leader…” and continued in the struggles and confessions of confusion, difficulty and turmoil. It was refreshing honesty about his weakness and need for others and his need for help.

This man was not qualitied to be leading Christians around, but not becuase of anything to his fault. No Christian is. The best of the best is not qualified for that. Paul himself would plant churches, disciple the new believers and train them to be led of the Spirit then he would leave them alone to the leadership of Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit. He did not place himself or his loyal men over that body of Christians. He was sensitive and careful not to overstep his place and intrude on the Spirit of Jesus Christ.

The role of pastor that the vast majority of protestant Christianity (and the role of Priest in Catholacism) has embraced does exactly that. It intrudes on the Spirit of Christ over other Christians. It usurps itself over the Holy Spirit. Amazingly most the time these other Christians crave that intrusion because they don’t know how to be led of the Spirit. I craved exactly that for most of my time as a Christian.

I love and appreciate pastors but don’t look to them for much of anything. I don’t look to them for anything beyond what I look to any Christian for. Fellowship, friendship and if fortunate inspiration from the spirit of Jesus. But not leadership. If they say or teach something that I know is not of God I don’t get mad at them. Any more than any Christian. Most of them mean well, most of them are just meeting a demand in the body of Christ. But as they meet that demand it does not necessarily mean they are following the spirit of Christ. Nor that I should listen to them more than my teen who is seeking Jesus and has the Spirit of Christ within.

As leaders, we can fake it, we can feign confidence and train ourselves to preach with excellent words of eloquence. And we can even bring in business consultants and call it “building the kingdom” but… it’s just not.

Jesus exclusively does that… through whom he choses, and how he choses. Ministry then is what God gets out of our lives as we surrender and yield ourselves to Jesus Christ.

So then NO, women cannot be clergyman pastors, but then again, neither can men. Unless of course we take the role of pastor as the scripture defines it. An older mature elder in the Lord who is able to teach who leads a life of self control and who is able to disciple young Christians.

That role is all over in the New Testament filled by both men and women in different ways. It may not pay well, it may not have a salary attached to it. It’s not going to feed your ego, or the pride of our lives all that much. But it is there and it is world-changing and it is the most important job on planet earth.

The modern definition of pastor, the clergyman (or clergywoman) is not a thing of Jesus Christ. It is not a spiritually legitimate profession. It may fit well into Satan’s world system of religion. But I’m with Jesus exclusively and Jesus does not fill pastor-ships like that. We do, tradition does, we inherit and hand down the concept of clergy, a professional class of religious leaders. It never should have been adopted by Christian churches, but it was.

Clergymen attempt to orchestrate and control Christian gatherings and think it their responsibility to orchestrate what the Spirit of Jesus wants to orchestrate. Through all his followers together, one by one. They go in and out for us, telling us when to come in and sit down, when and what to “repeat after me”, when to stand up, sit down, and pay the tenth and stop the talking, they entertain us with song and eloquence of speech.

As they do this… as we demand they do this. I can’t help but believe that Jesus is watching shaking his head saying ‘no thanks, none of that.’ I can’t help but believe he’d prefer the little old lady in the back row with little to no money and who is not cool. And who has a gentle, meek demeanor, that she should take the microphone from the proud one on stage and teach and exhort the people.

Pastors are legitimate ministry gifts but our definition is not Jesus’ definition, nor Paul’s definition.

The truth is, God can, and does, and has used women to minister as much as men. Any person, male of female who is being led of the Spirit is a minister of Jesus Christ.
