The Christian Gospel – Before Time

God has given us a good amount of information given about things that happened before creation. A thorough meditation and deeper comprehension of them gives us insight into all of reality, and into the nature of this creation and the reason for this physical universe we find ourselves living within.

Whom he foreknew, he also foreordained to be conformed to the image of his son – Romans 8:29

Having foreordained us unto adoption as sons through Jesus Christ unto himself. – Ephesians 1:5

Having been foreordained according to the purpose of Him who works all things after the counsel of His will. – Ephesians 1:11

Who called us with a holy calling…acording to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before times eternal. – 2 Timothy 1:9

And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. 4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. 5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

John 17:3-5 KJV

21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. 22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: 23 mI in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. 24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. 25 Oh righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. 26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

John 17:21-26 KJV

It was there you know, in eternity past, before God said “let there be light” that He devised his eternal purpose. So far in the past for us, yet so present and so right now for Him. The eternal purpose, a mystery until now, until the ecclesia, until the righteous congregations are assembled on the earth.

If the Christian gospel is to be the gospel of salvation and heaven and is mostly about heaven vs. hell, then the foreordaining spoken about in the verses above are about being chosen for heaven or for hell (Calvanism).

But, if the Christian gospel is to be the glorious gospel of the kingdom of Jesus Christ, and about all the people of the world, whoever is willing, joining that kingdom and that supreme King Jesus Christ. Then our foreordaining is about the entire body of Christ joining His government, to be ambassadors, to be those who are congregating on earth around the spiritual King, scattered around in advance before His final invasion. And that ecclesa (we call it the church) is foreordained to be a part of his congregations of righteousness. Congregations of righteousness tasked and anointed to reveal God’s eternal purpose to anyone and to everyone, spiritual beings and human beings. Gifted to administer his good, loving, and merciful will on earth. One’s who are to tasked to relieve human suffering. One’s who are to together live by the eternal life of Jesus Christ in the earth. Anointed ones, who He sees there in the future, present with Him not being bound by time and space like us. Being there already at the end just as much as He is here and now presently within and all around us.

Educated “Predictions” for 2025 and 2035

I believe that it should be possible, with an understadning of world history and the spiritual forces at work in the world, to make educated predcitions about what will happen in the future of nations.

It is January 1st, 2024 and here are Four Geopolitical Predictions for 2025, in no particular order:

1) Robert F. Kennedy wins US presidential election by Supreme court after widespread evidence of voter fraud.

2) Russia picks military fight with Poland and loses big, resulitng in almost total collapse of Moscow.

3) US goes to war with more than one Central American country, inexplicably chosing to invest in war rather than its own national borders.

4) Several states begin process to withdraw from the American union as outrage over voting crimes mounts.

And for some longer term predictions on the scale of a decade from now.

Five Predictions for 2035:

  1. A group of young preachers begin to terrorize the nations with the gospel of the kigndom and with the expansion of a new type of christian communities all over the earth. These groups of preachers with their Jesus-kingdom gospel will be hunted far and wide and will turn many of the currennt denominational systems of Christianty into violent persecutuers of these Christians.
  2. Minority persecution and discrimination becomes almost exclusively aimed at the religious. With persecution of Christians becoming popular, commonplace and accepted in many nations around the world. Resulting in dramatic increase in Christianity around the world.
  3. Military dictatorships replace government systems in many European nations.
  4. AI advances so far beyond human intelligence that it begins to replace human government. Human governments simultaneously becoming so corrupt and startting so many unnecessary problems that the peoples of the world become cooperative and agreeable to AI programs ruling the nations. A certain computer program will take over as the dominant agreed-upon government entity over the entire world and it immediately sets out to resolve the constant outrage, drama, and fighting over Jerusalem.
  5. Poland is rises as a national super power replacing all other nations in the dominance of Western and Eastern Europe.

The Gospel to the Aztecs

In 1520 Hernan Cortez visited emperor Moctezuma and preached his version of the Christian gospel to him. This gospel of Cortez to the Aztecs is summarized as follows:

“You are following and worshipping demons, but the one true God who created all things wants you to worship Him. I represent Him and you need to submit to me now and allow us to control your society and land. And if you don’t cooperate we will conquer you by force.”

Cortez’s gospel was very blunt and very demanding, his mission to ancient Mexico seemed to have serve about three main purposes for himself and for Spain.

1) To get access to Mexico’s wealth and abundance.

2) To expand the Spanish empire.

3) To provide a certain Christian gospel to the entire nation and region. Giving them a chance to be part of the Spanish Catholic kingdom.

But, what really matters is God’s motive in allowing Cortez to conquer Mexico in such dramatic manner. I think that is the most important question in studying this and most episodes of history.

After studing many accounts of this time, I think given the reports of widespread human ritual sacrifice, that the Lord determined to put a stop to the Aztec religion and government. The ungodly and self-serving motives of Spanish empire, the greed for gold, and the religious ambition of Cortez I believe were side-issues to the Lord. A means to an end. We should not interpret Cortez’s actions as approved by the Lord because he won. Neither should we interpret the evil of Cortez as an indication that the Lord was not behind the downfall of the Aztecs religion and government.

Cortez, being as militarily skilled as he and his men were, was probably one of the only persons alive at that time even able to get to the capital of the Mexican kingdom before getting killed (and perhaps eaten.)

The truth and the Lord’s reason for allowing this, is likely somewhere in the middle.

It’s sort of like the angel of the Lord responding to Joshua as he approached Canaan and asked are you with us or our enemies? The Lord responded “neither, but I am the captain of the Lord’s armies.” So, Joshua quickly got on his side, Joshua connected with the Lord’s purpose and his purpose and motives were secondary.

And I believe that Cortez was on the Lord’s side in Mexico. Not everything he did was on the Lord’s side or was the Lord even ok with. But he was a tool, just for that time and place to remove a great deal of evil, a great deal of satanic stronghold in that land and among those people.

Historians of Cortez are careful to note and emphasize his motives of greed and imperial conquest. And they should not be minimized or overlooked for sure.

However, Aztec religion believed that ritual human sacrifice was an important requirement for the continuation of the universe. They believed health, rain, crops and water were the result of the killing of children, babies and other innocent people they had conquered.

Montezuma the king of the Aztec nation even believed Cortez’s rebuke of their human sacrifice and his calling their gods ‘demons’ required even more sacrifices to appease the anger of his gods. For a glimpse of what society was like, the Mel Gibson movie, Apocalypto depicts what a society of ritual religious was human sacrifice like.

All that being said imagine if the gospel of one of the apostles, say the apostle Paul were to have invaded Mexico rather than, the gospel of Cortez. What would have been the effect? How would have Mexico fared differently? Would God have used other means entirely to break the violent Aztec religion and kingdoms?

Thinking even broader, how does the Christian gospel that comes to a non-Christian people affect a society long term?

In my article series the gospel to the Mongols I imagine what effect the gospel of the kingdom of Jesus Christ would have on the Mongols had they first heard it rather than the gospel of the Roman Catholic Pope of the 13th century. Because it was a different gospel in many significant ways.

It is too much to write here but in my coming book The Gospel of the State, I imagine what it would’ve been like if the gospel of the kingdom had come to Mexico instead of the gospel of the Spanish Catholicism of Cortez.

It’s a powerful and exciting exercise of what could have been. Would someone like Paul been immediately killed by the Aztecs? Did God have anyone at that time who would have been able to communicate to the Aztecs and represent Him? Who would not have been immediately killed and sacrificed to their gods? Was that society so violent and controlled by demonic powers that it needed a military person like Cortez to even go to these people? It is interesting to think about and it seems to me that God had decided to put a stop to the wickedness of this religion and governement so that the great peopel of Mexico can be free and have the freedom to not be sacrificed.
