Past, Present, and Future – Endless Glory of Jesus Christ

On Sunday, July 27, 2025, I shared a message entitled “The Endless Glory of Jesus Christ” at Bethel Fellowship in upstate NY. This was message 71 in the gospel of the Kingdom series that I am preparing. It is always an honor to share with the body of Christ anywhere, any time, and in any capacity. Gatherings of Christians are special events and, no matter how it seems, it is very important what happens in them.

Click here for a FB live video recording of some of it. I also have the full audio recording if you’d like I can share it. (comment below).

The entire church could share for the rest of eternity all teh glorious things about Jesus Christ, it woudl take us all and it would take an eternity. But for this message I shared four way that Jesus Christ is glorious.

  • I. The Glory of his Present – his present situation (Jesus Now)
  • II. The Glory of his Future – his future situation.
  • III. The Glory of Jesus’ Creation
  • IV. The Glory of His Ecclesia/ Church.

Unfortunately, I did not get to point IV in 55 minutes. The bulk of the time spent in this message was in reminding us what Glory is and in point I. in showing what Jesus is doing now. I enjoyed it and am praying for more opportunities to share the gospel of the kingdom. But this was just a snippet of a series of message that would take about 6 months if I was teaching daily.

My Thrill and My Dream

The thing about the gospel of the kingdom that thrills me is that when delivered to a group of Christians in totality, it leaves them not dependent on a professional clergyman or woman. It leaves them with an ecclesia (gathered community of the king), not at all dependent on a religious building or on a budget. It leaves them transformed into a body in any place on earth, an extension of Jesus Christ into a visible earth, able to reproduce and live by the life of Jesus Christ. One of my dreams (Lord willing, and Lord enabling) is to be able to share this message to a group of disciples and watch them launch off into the ministry of the church independent of me or any clergyman delivering weekly sermons. To know all that means and to be able to continue on gathering and growing indefintiley according to the pattern we see in the New Testament and not the traditions we see today.

The Oneness of the Church with Jesus Christ

On Sunday April 6th, 2025 I shared a message at Bethel Fellowship in Montour Falls entitled The Oneness of the Church with Jesus Christ. <—Click the link for the Facebook livestream video. This message is about part 40 of the gospel of the kingdom messages that I have been prayerfully writing and compiling and posting introductory YouTube videos for.

FOUNDATIONAL SCRIPTURE FOR THE MESSAGE:

HEBREWS 3:1 WHEREFORE, HOLY BRETHREN, PARTAKERS (PARTNERS, COMPANIONS) OF THE HEAVENLY CALLING, CONSIDER THE APOSTLE AND HIGH PRIEST OF OUR PROFESSION, CHRIST JESUS; WHO WAS FAITHFUL TO HIM THAT APPOINTED HIM, AS ALSO MOSES WAS FAITHFUL IN ALL HIS HOUSE. FOR THIS MAN WAS COUNTED WORTHY OF MORE GLORY THAN MOSES, INASMUCH AS HE WHO HATH BUILDED THE HOUSE HATH MORE HONOUR THAN THE HOUSE. FOR EVERY HOUSE IS BUILDED BY SOME MAN; BUT HE THAT BUILT ALL THINGS IS GOD. AND MOSES VERILY WAS FAITHFUL IN ALL HIS HOUSE, AS A SERVANT, FOR A TESTIMONY OF THOSE THINGS WHICH WERE TO BE SPOKEN AFTER; BUT CHRIST AS A SON OVER HIS OWN HOUSE; WHOSE HOUSE ARE WE, IF WE HOLD FAST THE CONFIDENCE AND THE REJOICING OF THE HOPE FIRM UNTO THE END.[1]

[1] The Holy Bible: King James Version, Electronic Edition of the 1900 Authorized Version., (Bellingham, WA: Logos Research Systems, Inc., 2009), Heb 3.

In this passage the word partners from teh KJV would have been better translated as partners or companions. And it is translated as such in several other English translations.

THE CHURCH IS INTENDED TO ENJOY A ONENESS WITH JESUS CHRIST. AND THERE SHOULD NEVER BE A DISTANCE BETWEEN THE LIFE AND MINISTRY AND EXPERIENCES OF CHRISTIANS FROM THE LORD. THERE ARE MANY ASPECTS TO THIS ONENESS BUT IN THIS MESSAGE I ATTEMPTED TO POINT TO SIX OF THEM, THERE ARE MANY BUT FOR THIS MESSAGE ONLY 6, AND I ONLY HAD TIME FOR 4.

  • ONENESS IN LIFE – WE ARE TO SHARE IN THE DIVINE LIFE OF JESUS CHRIST THAT IS THE NATURE OF ETERNAL LIFE TO SHARE IN A GOD-KIND OF LIFE.
  • ONENESS IN PURPOSE – OUR PURPOSE AS BEARING THE IMAGE OF GOD IS SHARED WITH JESUS CHRIST
  • ONENESS IN SUFFERING – WE PARTAKE IN THE SUFFERING WITH JESUS CHRIST AND SUFFERING HAS A PURPOSE.
  • ONENESS IN HIS MINISTRY AND ANOINTING – WE HAVE A MINISTRY AND AN ANOINTING FOR A MINISTRY THAT IS UNIQUE AND SPECIALLY PREPARED FOR THE BODY OF CHRIST. A MINISTRY OF TESTIMONY AND A MINISTRY OF THE GLORY OF GOD IN THE FACE OF JESUS CHRIST. WE ARE TO REFLECT OUT THE GLORY OF GOD FROM THE FACE OF JESUS CHRIST
  • ONENESS IN DEATH AND BURIAL – NEXT TIME
  • ONENESS IN HIS HEAVENLY GLORY – NEXT TIME

IT IS ALWAYS A PRIVILEGE TO SHARE ANYTHING WITH THE BODY OF CHRIST. MY PRAYER IS THAT IT WAS EDIFYING FOR ANYONE WHO LISTENED, AND I APPRECIATE ANY AND ALL OPPORTUNITIES TO SHARE.

The Good Fruit of Spiritual Ministry versus Institutional Ministry

In the modern church system, church planting seems to be viewed as a separate and distinct ministry, done with or without salvation preaching. Today in many evangelical traditions, church planting heavily involves money…buying real estate, establishing a religious corporation with the state, marketing, and doing good deeds for a community. My point is, that this is not what we see in scripture, something spiritual is missing. These modern men are very often attempting to plant something different from what Jesus Christ the apostles planted.

Jesus Christ after his resurrection, explained to his disciples all things in their scriptures (writings of Moses and the prophets) concerning himself. (see Luke 24:27)

Stephen explained to those he was preaching, much of the spiritual explanation of the history of Israel before they stoned him to death. (see Acts 7)

Paul would take several months to preach his gospel which had been given to him in the desert and confirmed with the other apostles, that gospel (referred to in Ephesians, Romans, Corinthians, Colossians) also was as his discipleship, and it was his ministry of church planting.

The early church was reported to have continued in the “apostle teachings.” (Acts 2:42-47)

Jesus commissioned his disciples to go and to teach all nations, baptizing them, and making disciples, all these ministries seem synonymous and are not separate and distinct ministries we can break apart to the neglect of the others. (see Matthew 28:18-20)

All these ministries are referring to the same thing, the preaching of the gospel of the kingdom. Making disciples, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and planting churches are synonymous in the New Testament.

They were not intended to be separate ministries. Per the New Testament there is not a separate ministry of the church called “preaching sermons” nor is “listening to sermons.”

If it doesn’t accomplish anything spiritually, it ought not be done in a Christian gathering.

And to do one without the other is not something the Lord is doing. In other words, if a person is gifted to and able to preach the gospel of the kingdom.

Firstly, he will be one who has embraced that gospel in his own private and public life.

Secondly, he will be able to preach and teach that gospel.

Thirdly, he will comprehend all of that gospel and not neglect portions of it for any reason.

Fourthly, the fruit of it will be evident in the formation of groups of Christians who embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ (the ecclesia/church), who gather together regularly, and produce the spiritual fruit of the kingdom of heaven.

What I am really trying to get at in this article is that the ecclesia (the church) results from the gospel of the kingdom, not salaries, book sales, social media posts, or endless entertaining Sunday sermons. The things that produce those other things alone are not the gospel referred to in the scriptures, if those things are all we are seeing then it is another gospel entirely we see at work among us.

For more on this, take the time to listen to this audio message from T. Austin Sparks recorded in 1960.
